Continuing from last week
Today, the page is also featuring a famous actress, HAJIYA ASIYA MUHAMMAD, popularly known as UWAR DASHI. She explained to readers the ins and outs of some of the happenings in the Kannywood industry, while the famous actress made a call to those who are trying to enter the Kannywood industry, as well as many other issues related to her life and career.
Here is the interview with LEADERSHIP HAUSA correspondent RABI’AT SIDI BALA as follows;
After the challenges you faced in the industry, are there any other successes you have had in the film industry?
I have been very successful, or at least there is a privilege, that if someone goes to his Napep and withdraws money, he will say “haba Mama, we found out I am your fan, I will not accept your money”. There was someone I went to ‘print’ for nothing, I could have paid about N6000, but he said “Madam, I am your fan, just leave it”. In the same way, my fans will call me “Mami, send me your account”, and I don’t even know where they get my number. Send me N1000, N2000, N3000, and he will tell you to save money. This is a great success.
Do you have a boss in the Kannywood industry?
The CEO of Kairiyya is my boss, because he gave Auwalu Jauro the opportunity to call me. Whenever a project arises, he will call me, and Alhamdulillah I am still with him, the CEO of Kairiyya, there is respect and honor between me and him until tomorrow. He has the right to say do this, do that, leave that, I almost say I gave birth to him.
Did he refuse to take a film from you?
I took it as a profession.
What is your next dream about film?
My dream is to become a ‘celebrity’ known all over the world.
After films, do you have another profession?
I have about three professions, I am a ‘Women Leader’ in APC for Rijiyar Lemo, whose name Buhari ‘hand over’ to Tinubu, ‘Women Leader’ for ‘Word’ now.
Secondly, I sell Beds, Mirrors, Chairs, Carpets. There is nothing I don’t sell to, from there even the Saudis send their money and I buy them shaddodis, atampofi and lesussuka.
How is your relationship with the other actors, and those you were with before you started filming?
My relationship with the other actors is good, because in the whole world there is no actor I would say I am angry with. I have never been shown to be angry, I have a good relationship with everyone.
And other people before I started filming, the truth is I was attracted to some, some were attracted to me. Because some people see every actor in a movie as a villain, then before you attract me, I attract you too. Because I have a heart, I don’t want you to tell me that I am not happy, all this business that I do is something that makes it difficult for you to see me in your house. That’s why I live peacefully with everyone.
I built the house I live in when I was no more than twenty years old, and I still live in it, because I can live with people safely.
Is there any improvement or development that you think should be brought into the Kannywood industry?
Yes, there are. There are some child actors in it, a person has N110,000, and he creates a film for nothing because he is lazy and lazy. Well, such people should be tracked down and their mothers should be killed, because they forget that they have younger siblings or children, and if they are treated like this, they will not be happy.
A person with N110,000, N120,000 creates a film, the film is made in a village, say for a day. You are a girl and because you are so eager for the film, you really want it to be released, they take the child actors and take them away, a film is not enough to bring it, it takes three days. They enter rooms with people’s children and beat them up.
In the villages they went to, there were people watching what was being done, but they didn’t know how to do it, because whoever would give them this house or this room would have to find someone stronger than the people in the neighborhood.
Well, for God’s sake, I wish the film industry would keep an eye on them. Anyone who was caught should be punished. They go from village to village, this is the only way to fix it, because they are trying to ruin the film industry, they start talking about making films and being bad guys. That’s not how it’s done, not everyone does that.
What advice would you give to those trying to enter the Kannywood industry?
If you are interested in film, then control yourself, know your own dignity, accept that film is a profession, don’t waste yourself. Because if you waste yourself, you become a fool, if you catch yourself, you will be arrested.
And if you catch yourself and protect your dignity, no one will dare to say that you are right. The film industry is a profession and you should take it as a profession, if you are a girl, come with your parents’ permission, if they don’t agree, be patient.
Because if they don’t agree, you came in vain, you will go back in vain, there is no point in criticizing me. And if you are given a role, take it seriously, it is not a joke.
And if you are an old man, for God’s sake, we should not go among children or talk nonsense with them, or anything like that. Or if a child does something to you and you insult him, that is not the case. He knows that he left his parents to come, you should leave your children there, if you see that he did wrong, you should only advise him, don’t beat him up and say that you didn’t give birth to him. That is also where he is causing contempt and causing humiliation.
Is there any advice you would give to your fellow professionals?
Yes, there is. Advice to Directors or Producers, if a girl comes to you wanting to do a movie, for God’s sake be patient with her behavior. Because her parents also love her and she is determined to come and tell them what she wants, they must agree and be patient.
And even if you have children, if you don’t have children, you will have them in the future, or you have a younger sibling. Be patient with them, not by saying “she can’t do it”, by criticizing her, discouraging her, and so on. No! That’s not the case, for God’s sake be patient with new heroes who come in, whether male or female.
And for God’s sake, if a person works, he should always try to do his job, and if the money he will be paid is definitely not enough, then before he comes, he should be told how much he will be paid, if he sees that he can do it, he should come and do it. If he doesn’t do it for him and says he didn’t do it for him, find someone who paid for it, because someone else can come and do it for free.
